		<p>Fletcher Bates is the owner of Coastal Athletics which has been in operation for over 6 years. He is dedicated to giving the quality instruction needed for improvement and success. Fletcher began his baseball career at a young age and started out as a fifth round draft pick of the New York Mets in 1993. &nbsp;He retired after playing 10 years for the Mets, Marlins, Diamondbacks, Phillies, and Orioles organizations. Today, he continues his connection with MLB as an associate scout for the New York Mets. In his years of professional playing Fletcher has received several high achievement awards for his athletic excellence. He has the title of three time All Star as well as three time MVP at the professional level. He was also on baseball America's top 10 prospect list and the 40 men roster with the Marlins for 2 years. Fletcher&rsquo;s professional experience is an invaluable asset to the Coastal Athletics team. Fletcher provides baseball instruction and training in all aspects of the game and he is the head owner/operator of the Coastal Athletics facility.</p>

		<p>Nathan Culp was born in Maryville, Illinois and has always had a passion for baseball. In high school his talent for the sport was recognized and he was named the Alton Telegraph Player of the Year in 2003.<span id="Content">He went on the play ball at the University of Missouri where his career took off.</span>  He allowed no runs in first collegiate appearance<span id="Content">, he t</span>ied for the team lead with nine wins on the year (in 2005), he also tied for seventh best in the Big 12 Conference.<span id="Content"> After his sucess on the collegiate level, Nathan was drafted #4 in the 2006 draft by the San Diego Padres.</span>&nbsp;<span style="">Nathan brings years of collegiate and professional playing experience to Coastal Athletics.</span>&nbsp;<span style="">He offers baseball instruction to all ages and assists in the pitchers/catchers clinics.</span>  <span style="">&nbsp;&nbsp;</span> <!--{12444700098611}--></p>

<p>Darryl Lawhorn is an experienced baseball player and coach that is dedicated to his passion. Darryl started playing ball at a young age and has had quite a successful career in baseball.&nbsp; In high school he played at New Hanover High in Wilmington, NC from 98-01 and the All Star team in &lsquo;01. Darryl&rsquo;s achievements encompasses Post 10 2-time player of the year in &rsquo;00-01, East Carolina University&rsquo;s co-national Freshman of the year in 02, he also holds the freshman records at ECU for hits, homeruns, games, at bats, batting average and total bases from &rsquo;02-&lsquo;04. Out of college he was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks where he played in &rsquo;04. He went on to play more professional baseball for 5 years under the following teams, Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, Oakland A&rsquo;s, Washington Nationals, Kansas City T-bones (independent), and Fargo-Moorhead Red Hawks (independent). His areas of focus at Coastal Athletics are on baseball instruction for ages 5-12 and coaching ages 13 and up.</p>

<p>Jake Brinkley is an instructor and coach at Coastal Athletics and has many years of baseball playing experience. He was born in Wilmington NC, and started playing baseball at a young age. His older brother Josh Brinkley played professional baseball for the Montreal Expos for 10 years, so it&rsquo;s no surprise that Jake is talented in the sport.&nbsp; In high school he played for East Duplin High and was one of the top 50 ball players in the state in &rsquo;99- &lsquo;03. After his success in high school he went on to play at Louisburg College on a baseball scholarship in &rsquo;03- &rsquo;05. He later transferred to Mt. Olive College and played ball from &rsquo;05-&rsquo;07. Jake's focus on nutrition and strength training offers players postive encouragement and promotes a lifestyle and training program that will take athletes to the next level.</p>

		<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 12.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Arial">&nbsp;Dante Calabria is a former UNC basketball player and professional athlete who strives to share his knowledge and athletic skill with new up and coming players. Dante played for Carolina from 1992-1996 under Dean Smith and played in the NCAA Championship in 1993. After his successful college career Dante went on to play professionally in Italy, Spain, France &amp; Greece &nbsp;for 13 years and was a member of the Italian National Team in 2001, 2005 &amp; 2006. He was also the Assistant Coach for Milano Basketball Team from 2005-2007 for 19U players. Dante's impressive professional playing and coaching experience makes him a perfect fit for Coastal Athletics Basketball.</p>

		<p>Jeff Christner attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1998 with a BS in Mathematics Education.&nbsp; He has taught Math courses ranging from Alegebra I through Pre-Calculus at High Schools in Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina.&nbsp; He also taught Mathematics Courses and Math SAT Prep at American College Prep, a school for advanced education of students.&nbsp;&nbsp; He is also the author of Why Quit?. &nbsp;<br />

Jeff currently teaches at Eugene Ashley High School here in New Hanover County and is the Program Director and Math Tutor for the Coastal Athletics Academic Enrichment Program. &nbsp;<br />

		<p style="margin: 0px 0px 12px; font-family: Arial; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;">Born and raised in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, Jeff Christner graduated from Ligonier Valley High School in 1993.&nbsp; An avid athlete and exceptional wrestler, he enrolled at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania on a wrestling scholarship and ended up walking on to the baseball team.&nbsp; He played the position of catcher for four years at Shippensburg University and was catcher for East Hills in the AAABA league in Johnstown, PA.&nbsp; In his junior year at Shippensburg, he was the starting catcher for the team who ended up going to the 1996 Division II Baseball National Championships.&nbsp; After college, Jeff continued to play baseball catching for three seasons with the Wilmington Indians.&nbsp; He got involved with Coastal Athletics in 2005.&nbsp; The organization has been a good fit for him because it allows him to combine his love of baseball with his skills for teaching; Jeff currently teaches at Eugene Ashley High School.&nbsp; Jeff has coached the fall Wooden Bat League at Coastal Athletics since its inception and has been an Assistant Coach for the summer camp programs at Coastal for the past four years.</p>

		<p>Drew Kyle is a talented baseball player and coach who has a niche for pitching.&nbsp; Drew&rsquo;s passion for baseball led him all the way to college ball where he pitched for Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania.&nbsp; While at Shippensburg he was promoted to team captain because of his outstanding athletic ability. Since college Drew has been coaching both middle and highschool teams and enjoys the opportunity to pass along his knowledge for the sport. He also teaches at Trask Middle school and understands the importance in balancing athletics and academics.&nbsp; Drew&rsquo;s passion and dedication to the sport drives his players to improve and be the best they can be.</p>

			<h3 style="text-align: left;">Chuck Leek (Lacrosse Instructor, Coach)</h3>

		<p>Chuck Leek is a lacrosse instructor and coach whose experience and knowledge of the game is second to none.&nbsp; Originally from Dunn, North Carolina, Chuck moved to Virginia when he was a teenager and started playing lacrosse as a freshman in high school. He quickly developed a passion for the game and learned the skills necessary to compete at a high level. Chuck came back to NC after a couple of years and brought the game with him. He is currently a teacher at Trask Middle School and has been the head lacrosse coach and football coach for the past 6 years. Chuck knows how the game should be played and is experienced in teaching all positions to ages 11 and up.&nbsp; When coaching he focuses on the fundamentals of lacrosse and promotes a healthy attitude towards the game. Chuck is excited to bring lacrosse to Coastal Athletics and wants to help spread the sport throughout the Southeast.&nbsp; </p>

			<h3 style="text-align: left;">Tony Ferreira (Lacrosse Instructor, Coach)</h3>

		<p>Tony Ferreira is a lacrosse player and coach from long island who has the experience and passion for the sport needed to be an outstanding instructor. In high school Tony&rsquo;s talent for lacrosse was recognized, he was a 2-time all American, and the most recruited player. He went on to play at Loyola Collage in Baltimore where he was one again a 2-time all American player. Now Tony is the head coach at Ashley High School and has recently trained 9 D1 players in NY. He was asked to play professionally but Tony&rsquo;s passion lies in passing on his knowledge and skill to young players. In his training he focuses on strength, conditioning, and agility and was the training director for nationally known training facility, Parisis Speed School. He is also a certified Physical Therapist which serves well in keeping young athletes in their top condition.</p>
